First Interactive Presidential Debates 2016 in Mindanao

Within 24 years, the first interactive Presidential Debates 2016 was held in Mindanao. The 5 presidential bets that had participated were Vice President Jejomar Binay, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Grace Poe, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas.

This live coverage was brought by GMA News and Public Affairs, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Commission on Election, and KBP. It started at 5pm, Philippine time and simultaneously broadcast live in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, USA and Canada via GMA Pinoy TV, and in the Asia Pacific region.

Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista initiated this first Presidential debates in 2016

The moderators are Mike Enriquez and Jessica Soho of GMA, and John Nery, Editor-in-Chief of Inquirer.

Why the 5 candidates run for president?

Presidential bets shared their staunch individually on why they are running for the president after the two-hour Pilipinas Debates 2016 at the Capitol University. Cagayan de Oro.

  1. I was able to watch this debate. I wish that they would do the same for VP candidates so that informed voters can make better choices come electtions.

I was able to watch the debate from start to finish and it is really nice to see that this kind of public debate so people have the idea how knowledgeable these candidates are with the regards to the position they are aiming... Through these debates, i hope people are not smart and wise enough to vote for the right person to lead our country

  5. I also watched it together with my family. I don’t know but I feel that the time allotted was too short. I hope the next 2 debates are longer and focus more on relevant questions not intrigues. I’m also looking forward in the vice presidential debate.
